Making Music at Holgate
| Within
the Main Hall we are fortunate in having both a quality Piano
and an excellent 3-manual Organ. Both
are well maintained and the Hall is ideal for religious and secular concerts.
The piano is on castors, and the organ console can be moved and played
from any point in the Hall. The dais upon which the commuion furniture
is usually sited is flexible and can be used as a raised platform with
all the furnitre removed, as a shallower but higher platform, or dispensed
with altogether.
|
| The
accoutsics of the Hall are rather too full of echo when the building is
empty, but this changes to superbe chamber once the listeners arrive!
The ground floor seats about 80, with a further 100 on the three-quarter
balcony, making an excellent setting for an intimate evening.
